  • Yamaha f300 issues. By this point the motor is mostly toast as there are metal particles in the oil. I have had both lower units go out with a pinion gear being the Dec 22, 2023 · So I drop my lower unit to service water pump. Not sure if the wire they use for the F300 is a heavier gauge do to the increased output of the 300 over the 250. Therefore some items may not apply to ev-ery model. to me that thrust bearing just has to many parts and no spec to check it. They also replaced the guides. I went thru the entire troubleshooting guide and everything points to the VCT or OCV or maybe a intake leak, it almost acts like either the timing advances or the motor goes lean. I have twin F300's on my boat. Having an issue with engine shutting off, tends to happen above 4000 rpm or during acceleration. And due to bigger issues since before i bought an inspection camera (teslong) to verify the condition on every engine im intrested in. The motors run great had a good report/compression etc. Boo. i have ran on the YDIS Software as attached. Both motors will crank, run, throttle up and function as intended but only one motor displays info. The timing belts have not been replaced and motors are a little over the 1000hr mark. It will not restart right away. Luckily mine was still under YES. Next trip the outboard loses power beyond 2000 rpms. So, what are some of the Yamaha 300 outboard problems?
