Savannah is considered one of the healthiest breeds. It does not suffer any genetic diseases. Obviously, this is due to a strong family history of their wild ancestor, the Serval. Timely vaccination and parasite prevention are a guarantee of good health of your pet.

If you decide to buy a Savannah kitten, you need to check his/her health first. The kitten should be active, friendly and not show aggression. Be sure to ask for a veterinarian certificate as well as all the necessary tests for the most dangerous feline viruses such as Feline Panleukopenia virus (FPV), Rhinotracheitis, Chlamydia, Toxoplasmosis or Coronavirus. Keep in mind that cats can be carriers of Coronavirus without any symptoms. If there is a stressful situation, it can escalate into peritonitis.

All of our kittens are properly vaccinated prior to leaving our cattery. Before the age of 12 weeks, they are vaccinated against Rhinotracheitis Calicivirus and Chlamydia. All of our Savannah kittens are also vaccinated against Rabies for their first year and dosed regularly for protection from fleas and ear mites.

If you decide to buy a Savannah cat, we recommend getting an experienced veterinarian who will regularly inspect it and follow the schedule of repeated vaccinations. FIP, FIV and FeLV – are dangerous diseases. All of our kittens are tested for these viruses. PKdef is another dangerous genetic disease often leading to death. It is inherited from the parents. All our dames and sirs are PKdef N / N, i.e. the animals are healthy and are not carriers.

If your kitten is a pet only, it’s your responsibility to have your pet spayed or neutered at the age of 5-6 months. Male kittens are generally neutered before reaching age six months to avoid spraying/marking of urine in the home and to avoid nervous behavior due to the absence of a partner.

We highly recommend against Savannahsdeclawing. Declawing is extremely painful all throughout the cat’s life and may cause numerous health problems as your kitten gets older.
